Age Restriction
While we do not have an age restriction we cannot stress enough that this site is NOT meant for children. Much of the content will lean on the adult and heavy side of writing. We advise a rating of 18+ for general content.
No sexually explicit threads!
Bummer, I know, but this one is a rule set by proboards. Any threads seen to have heavy overly sexually explicit content runs the risk of deletion as it can shut down our entire site. Please take your smut to PM’s. You can leave innuendo, or use a [fade to black] to indicate sexual encounters.
Tag your shit!
If your thread contains content that could be triggering to some readers we ask that you tag it. Putting a “CW//” at the beginning of your thread title to indicate the thread deal with heavy content. The top of the first post should indicate what sort of content is contained in the thread, there is a description section under the title of each thread. (Ie. rape, violence, abuse, fat shaming, phobias, etc.)
It is the 1970’s, so the muggle world is not as “woke” as we are used to in 2018, but that does not mean we can’t be kind to each other with warnings. Failure to tag will result in a warning posted by an admin. Continued failure to tag will result in thread deletion and possible further action.
No drama OOC.
This includes our OOC chat box and the OOC section of our forums. This means no fighting, no advertising, no spamming, no being needlessly mean. If the admins notice any of this, action will be taken accordingly.
No Mary Sue’s/Gary Stu’s
"Perfection is overrated." You simply cannot have a character who is universally beloved by everybody. They're going to have people who can't stand them. They're also going to fail at certain things. There will be classes they're good at and classes they utterly suck at. Flaws are essential for interesting characters. Plus, there are enough special snowflake canon characters to go around!
Character Limit
When it comes to characters, we do no believe in establishing hard limits. However, we do ask that you keep your characters reasonably active. If you are suffering to keep up with one character consider that before taking on another. Admin are happy to work with anyone to ensure there is lots of juicy plot to go around. We will require at least five posts with your newest character (not including OOC posts) before applications for a new one will be accepted.
No god modding or power playing.
Meaning, your character can't be untouchable in a duel nor can you control the actions of others. If you have a character attack someone else, you can't say say it struck them - just that you tried to hit them.
Deaths/kidnappings/major character changing events must be approved by an Admin/Mod.
Please ask an admin before killing off your characters. Not that we don’t love a good character death, nor will we likely ever say no, however this is one thing we would like to keep a close eye on. Our team is working hard all the time to create inclusive plot for characters. Moderator and Admin staff will work with you to ensure you, and everyone else, is enjoying the site.
Minimum Posting Requirement is one paragraph.
While we do not believe in holding people to a set word count, we believe it is important to be respectful to your fellow rpers. If someone is posting with three of four paragraphs of well thought out text, only to get a sentence in reply it can really kill a thread. A paragraph only needs three sentences, a beginning, middle, and end, to qualify.
"Dumbledon't" - No controlling NPC’s without permission
While controlling unclaimed canon NPCs is allowed for the most part, we do have a list of restricted NPC’s/DPC’s that are strictly off limits. Please ask permission to use or mention characters on this list, which can be found here. Characters not on the list are considered free reign. If you are in doubt, simply clear it with an Admin.
What happens if I break a rule?
We here at Marauders: The Never War take our roles as Admin as seriously as we can. This site is designed to be inclusive, but safe above all. The rules we have set in place are to ensure everyone is safely enjoying themselves.
Breaking rules will result in a conversation with the Admin, first and foremost. We do not follow a strike or penal system and take each incident as it comes. Serious offences, or repeated offences can lead to a suspension or ban, depending on the situation and the severity.
Be kind, so our staff don’t have to rewind.
